post cardiac surgery night sweats

last week had open heart surgery, 2 bypasses. since ive returned home i have had hight sweats every night, never before the surgery. could it be a medication?Ramipril, Meloprolol, Lipitor?

any other options you can think of.
dont mean to be a pain, but it quite annoying.

Temperature control abnormalities are common after open heart surgery.  We have many patients who complain about that.  This typically resolves over time.  You should however address this with your cardiologist to make sure that a serious problem such as infection or  a clot in the leg isn't going on.

I had open heart and afterward was very warm for a couple of weeks.  I remember my parents had to put in a window AC unit in my room because I was complaining so much.  It was summer at the time, but I don't think it was the weather - no one else seemed bothered.

I was not on any of the drugs you mentioned - just oxycoedone for pain.

Heart surgery is no fun.  It took awhile for all sorts of weird side effects to shake out before I felt 'okay' again.  I did end up with infections in my arms from so many IVs during my hospital stay.  My arms didn't hurt but my armpits got crazy swollen and lumpy and that's how I knew something was wrong.  I believe this happened after the heat issue though - I don't think they were related.

Get well soon and I please know that as crummy as you feel right now, you will soon feel SOOO much better.
