problem with drug-eluting stents

I am a 53 year old female who had a myocardial infarction in July, 2006. I went to the hospital experiencing a heart attack and was taken directly to the cath lab. A heart cath was done and a drug-eluting stent was implanted. A clot was removed, but in order to establish a better distal flow in the LAD the stent was put in place. Recently, in December of 2007, I had a cta heart scan that revealed a problem with the stent. My regular physician set up an appointment with the heart doctor that implanted the stent.  The appointment was cancelled as I did not have the necessary funds to see the heart doctor.  Should I be concerned about the problem with the stent.  I have not received any messages from my regular doctor after informing him that my appointment was cancelled with the heart doctor. If I should seek medical attention for the problem with the stent, are there any means available to me due to my limited financial situation. I would appreciate any information you can give me.
