pulmonary hypertention

pulmonary hypertention

I am 46 and female. I was told after having a stress test and electrcardiagram that I was just below the level of having pulmonary hypertention. I wasn't having any symptoms that I was aware of at the time. I believe I also had a floppy mitro valve that didn't quite open and close tightly sometimes if I understood correctly. I had the tests done originally because there's a history of heart disease and high blood pressure in my family.

My blood pressure is usually normal, once in a great while a little high but usually on the low side . My heart rate is usually on the high side, between 90 and 105 resting. I sometimes feel what I describe as a flutter of my heart.I am about 20-30 lbs, overweight. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalsia (fibromyalgia) and have intercystial cystitis, Herpes and frequent headaches off and on.I also have chronic heartburn and a hyatal hernia and digestive problems off and on, possibly irritabal bowel. I have also tested positive for Hep C antibibodies but not the virus and have never had symptoms that I was aware of although my liver enzymes have at times been elevated which is what caused my doctor to test for hep c. I have never had a blood a transfusion or done intervenus drugs so that puzzles me as well. I am perimenopausal and have not had regular periods for about 10 years..

I take 112.5 mg of effexor each day, 40mg. of nexium twice a day, 200 mg of elmiron twice a day, hydroxizine once a day at night. I have also recently been taking 20mg of bioidentical progesterone once a day for about 5 months. My progesterone was .05 and my estrogen was too high. testosterone was also on the low side.

I'm not sure any of this relates to anything but wanted to give enough information to form an opinion.

Although I don't have any present symptoms of PH I have had respiratory problems several times in the past. I used to get brochitis and pnemonia (pneumonia) as child and teen. At the time I lived with my parents who were both heavy smokers and smoked in the house. As a young adult in my twenties I twice had a persistant cough that last approximately a year each time and couldn't be diagnosed for some reason. It finally cleared up each time but at the time was so bad that I had trouble sleeping and sometimes coughed up blood or coughed so hard I threw up. During the 1st bout I was working in a place where smoke was alowed and not well ventilated. It seemed to clear up when I left thet job.

The second bout there was a flood in one of the rooms in our house and I believed it might have been due to mold.I was also under a great deal of emotional stress at the time and developed a skin allergy around my eyes.I have not had any severe respiratory problems since then,  except for a bout of long lasting resp. flu about 8 years ago. It lasted about a month and the cough lingered mildly for a couple more.

Could these things in my past have caused permanent damage to my lungs?

Also my doctor suggested I may have had un- diagnosed allergic asthma,

I also had read that hep c is possibly somehow related to PH sometimes.

I realize I don't exactly have PH yet but wondered if it will progress to that or if there's anything I should or could do to prevent it. Should I be concerned ?
