Next week I have an appt. to follow-up my (2nd) echo.  My first echo was done 04/13/99 . The report listed everything as normal with this exception, "Thickening of the anterior mitral leaflet is noted.  There is normal excursion and coaption.  No evidence of prolapse and there is a mild degree of mitral regurgitation with a posteriorly directed jet".  Ejection fraction 50-55%.
The dr. ordered the 2nd on, 10/05/99, because he wanted his tech's interpretation of the regurg. and  he wanted to be sure there wasn't MVP, and to see if there was any structural reason for my fainting  (I haven't fainted in 11 mos).  During this echo I heard the tech mention TR.  My questions are: 1. Is there any questions I should be asking my dr. during this visit?  2. Is it ok for me to ask for a copy of the echo?
Thank you for your time.

You can ask whether anything has changed from the first echo. In particular, has the mitral regurgitation gotten any worse - I doubt it. The first echo would not have explained the fainting episodes anyway. The findings are minimally abnormal - I would not bother asking for a copy.

P.S. I haven't had any more trouble with the long lasting pvc's since I posted,11/26, by my visit it will be 3 weeks (and it only happened once).  That's kinda old news, so do you still think I need to mention it to my dr.?
