rapid heart beat at night

I started reading the threads on this issue and want to learn more because I've been having these same symptoms for the past couple of weeks. My endocrinoligist says try halving the thyroid meds I take in case they're the culprit, but he doesn't really think that's at issue. I wonder, just how serious are these symptoms? I start on Medicare in a couple of wks and sure hate to incur big medical bills before that insurance starts. Any ideas?
