rapid pulse

hi there im 38 years old. i was sent to the hospital with a pulse at 210 on thurs the cardiologist put a bunch of meds through a iv and sent me home .this  has been going on around 4 years. it doesnt happen all the time.

Did they bother to put a name to your tachy (fast heart rate)? Did they say to follow up with a visit to your doctor or cardiologist? Some tachy times, like PSVT, are not life-threatening. Some, like atrial flutter or fibrillation can cause problems like blood clots. And v-tach or v-fib are serious and need to be managed aggressively. If this has been happening for the past 4 years then most likely you have one of the less dangerous (but quite annoying) variety. It would be good to follow up and get more information for your peace of mind.
