Hello and hope you are doing well.

Deep vein thrombosis can occur as a side effect of oral contraceptive pills, but this is more likely in people who are immobile for some time. It occurs commonly in the legs and there is accompanying swelling. The other causes for pain are injury, ankle joint disorders, metabolic disorders and cardiovascular disorders. I would suggest you consult a primary care physician for proper evaluation.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
