relaps and relaps palps.. meds? or heat ?

Im in a real pickle here ? as I keep getting palpations off and on .. out of knowhere ? iv had them for years ,but they
seemed to stop and went away.. however this past dec 08. I had a relaps of non stop palps  put me in the hospital
for 3days! doc's changed meds to beta blocker atenonol - however after one week started gettting blurred vision and
real bad headaches and body cramping bad.  was only on 50mg .. the palps did stop !
was put back on verapamail and spirolactone , as im allergic to dieuretics.  well  iv noticed now on the ccb and spiro
if temps are over 85deg F> I get palps right away - also everyone says I look like I got sunburned in the face ? when
I didnt go outside at all .. what to do ?   I also noticed I get alot of gas when the palps happen -burping and belching
and my belly jutts outwords - ankles swell slightly too !   could this be a allergic reaction to the verapamil or spiro ?

I cant seem to find a good doctor anywhere ?  they all seem to push the same drugs iv taken before ..iv been on 17
diffrent brands and types.   beta blockers and ccbs  and ace inhibbitors.
and cant tollerate diovan type drugs.

could palps be conected to gas or is just a reaction to the heat or temps outside like a side effect of verapamil
im really twisted on these meds..

and im thinking of going on Natural medications only..   its like you damed if you do what doctors say..and your damed if you dont do what they say !

well im soon to be 56 .. iv been threw the ringer of life ..  soo... well   ??????

Yes thank you for the info :
the head rushing ,red face is pretty normal while on verapamil .. since its been hot weather here - iv been getting swollen ankles again - and shortness of breath .  its mild.
and it stops when im in a air conditioned room 60s 50s deg.  so im sure its the verapamil
as off the drug -I dont have these symptoms at all.   just h.b.p !   the heat plays a part
with this medication im sure of it .

my cardiologest insists I go back on the beta blocker - atenonol  at 50mg per day
at least try it -  as per the problems iv got now .. he said verapamil isnt all that good for
my problems.. and that I could be haveing allergic reactions to it  ..

so I will try tomorrow  to switch meds and see what happens !  hopeing for the best
last time with atenonol  I had slight blurred vision problems..  for about 4 days
b.p stayed down and the palps stopped .. didnt notice any breathing problems ?
will give it a go ..

if that does not work .. will go natural again -  and work on rapid waight loss.
re- bloating belly conditions.   im just having way to meny problems on chemical meds.

thanks again for your help and info .. booger

Morning Booglet - still having problems I see. My face will turn bright red at times if I'm the least bit overheated or stressed (you should see me in the doctor's office). I hope that's all that's going on with you.

As for bloating, can you tell if it's gas or fluid retention? I have some trouble with fluid retention and that sets off my heart (heavy pounding, mild tachy and plenty of ectopics). For me a B complex vitamin has helped, reducing my sodium intake is obviously helpful and just being active helps. I was taking a bit of magnesium for a few months that was supposed to help higher BP and PVC's. It did seem to help but maybe a little too much for me. My BP dropped kind of low and I felt like a slug. I was so tired and my body felt like it had bowling balls attached. It actually hurt to move around very much. The ectopics eased off but I couldn't stand the fatigue so I stopped the mag. Now I'm feeling better but have my bouncy heart back. That's OK since I'm used to it. As long as I don't pass out, I figure I'm fine. LOL

Before you take any vitamins though, clear it with your doctor. Some vitamins interact with some medications.

symptoms are : as per doctor cardiologest reports  pvc's rapid or extra fast beats.
seems they come in clusters of 2s and 4s at first - then can and have gone to rapid beats . feels like im skipping beats.  also get some that cause shortness of breath.
but very few of them!   orginial started with procardia xl  90mg dose by intern doctor
(wrong dose level) thus caused the problem, said cardiologest years ago.
since they come and go !  however this round they started in Dec 08.. and have kept up
since off and on unanounced.   You woke me up  im a mouth breather .could be a problem - I will look into vitamins  and see what works naturaly.

Im at a loss to find what triggers palpations to start or relaps on me ?
thanks for you help

What kind of symptoms are you getting when you describe palpations?  I, myself, get rapid heartbeat during the daytime and extremely fast heartbeat at night when I lay on my left side.  When I switch to lay on my right side, I do not even feel my heart beat.  My EKG is normal so far and was told that I have an adrenaline problem which is hereditary on my father's side.  The bloating and gas could be caused from sucking in air through your mouth.  If you feel like you cannot breath, you may be breathing in too much air causing the gas.  I used to do this, before I figured out that I was breathing incorrectly.  I needed the brown paper bag instead of the extra air.  People with heart problems can have a flushed looking face and the face can appear larger than normal.  Do you take vitamins?  Some vitamins work like diuretics.  Check with your doctor before starting any vitamins or changing any medication as it may interfer with your current medication.  Hope you start feeling better soon.
