restless leg syndrome

i have had restless leg for several years, as have my mom and three out of four siblings. i understand that treatments are now being discovered for this ailment. i wonder though if this is circulation related. one of the things that helps is vigorous massage or hot baths, and this leads me to believe that the circulation is somehow connected. i know its a pain to live with and i am grateful that its finally being taken seriously, and hope to receive the medication soon. what are your thoughts on this topic? thanks for your time.

This is often seen with poor circulation in the legs, but more often than not we do not find a definitive cause.  You may wish to have a full vascular evaluation including ankle brachial indexes perfroemd by your physician to make sure that there is no underlying vascular disease.

I would be unsure what may be causing this problem.  Please discuss this with your physician.
