Neurologists have developed good medications to treat restless leg syndrome and I suggest seeing one. It is really more of a problem with the nerves that supply the legs than a circulatory problem.

dear moya,

your feelings are not trivial. thank-you for for your thoughts and concern they mean alot. please don't feel sorrow for me.i have lived a life full of joy love and happiness and i'm not scared at the possilbility of dying. if i had my life to live over i wouldn't of changed a thing. i feel so blessed for the life i have lived. i will light a candle for you as well and hope that you can find some comfort everytime you feel down. never make light of how you are feeling because you think someone may be worse off. i know what it is like to feel the way you do and i also know how terrible it can be. take care, i wish you all the best. debby.

i will light a candle and pray for you and ask friends and family to do the same. i also believe that God has the plan laid out, and ultimately his will will be done regardless. i feel my problems are trivial in comparison to yours, the only threat i face is myself when things seem hopeless but as i say,  that seems somewhat trivial now. may  God bless you and keep you well until a  donor can be found. as i said before, its the season for miracles. may it be Gods will.   bless you, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.            Moya Layne   (restless)

Debby,
Good luck to you. I too believe that God lays out a path for each of us, even if it is not always apparent to us at the time.

A BP of 96/58 is not low, but within the normal range. A blood pressure is considered too low if it produces symptoms of lightheadedness or dizziness, occasionally fatigue.

thanks restless and the doctor who responded to my comment.
I am on the donor waiting list but my cardiologist thinks that time will be running out soon. I always believed that when it is your time God is going to take you no matter what so what Is meant to be will be I guess. It is a comfort to me knowing that others will be able to live If I don't get a heart in time. My mother has been waiting for a kidney donor for a long time. We are a perfect match, but my doctors won't even think about it unless I don't make It.

I hope that you can get some help with your depression. I was for a while when I was told that I may have a year left but most likely less. Now I just go with the flow and enjoy every day when it comes. Its funny how you appreciate things more when you may lose them. To help my depression I went for walks [well I can't walk I use a wheel chair now] or listened to calming music things like that to take my mind off of things. I hope that one day you will be able to find something that works for you. No one should have to live feeling lost and hopeless. suround your self with family and friends and enjoy all the beauty that God gave us share. There are alot of support groups out there. Your doctor can find one for you I'm sure. It may help you to look at other postings. There seems to be alot of people concerned and worried about benign arrhythmias and all the doctors have said that they may be scary to have them but they are not life threatening. If you develop any symptoms then they become more concerned about them. Hang in there and know that you are never alone. God is always there with you. God Bless you. Debby

The symptoms you describe sound like restless legs syndrome. You are correct, it does not really involve the heart, but can be treated.

What is restless leg syndrome? For years I have restless legs at night especially if I stood or walked alot during the day. My mother has the same thing and so does my 17 year old daughter. Most people I mention it to don't know what I am talking about, except for my mother and daughter. My daughter's friends have no idea what my daughter means when she tries to explain it.Is this what is meant by restless leg syndrome? It is very uncomfortable when trying to sleep or relax. This doesn't really have anything to do with the heart, does it? I had no idea that it could be treated. Very interesting. Martie

Debby,
Restrictive cardiomyopathies in general do not have effective medical treatments. In certain situations though, heart transplantation may be effective. I hope you have been evaluated by a medical center with transplant capability to see if you might be eligible.

i know the doctors are great here. i don't mean to sound ugly or anything, its just that all the questions posted on the 3rd were skipped so i think maybe there was a mistake. i think they alternate or something, and it may be someone else's day to respond. i was definately not criticizing , they do a fantastic job here. i am greatful for this service. have you had a second opinion? i really hate to hear about your situation. that is what scares me about my arrhythmias. i have had ekg's and a thallium stress test but haven't had an evaluation by a cardiologist. and the stress test wasn't exactly normal, but my doctor told me it was perfectly normal. all this was 2 years ago, and i'm still here so i guess all is well. i have to go on that assumption anyway.  is there hope for a transplant in your situation? i know in some cases its the answer. i hope they will come up with something for you.    restless in alabama

hi debbie, i am really sorry to hear about your heart problem. i think i am fine , or so they tell me. my arrhythmias are benign and have actually calmed down in the last few months. its just confusing to be told they are never life threatening and then find out they can be deadly under certain circumstances. kind of makes you insecure and wonder what else you haven't learned. any way, my biggest problem is ongoing depression, and its taking its toll on me. i can't find the right med to help me and i'm worn down badly. i hope the docs can give you some positive input to maybe make your cituation a little brighter. are they talking about a transplant? i hope they can find meds or something to give you more hope to hold on to. thanks for the moral support and i will pray for you also. this is the season for hope! god bless!   restless in alabama

Just a side note here. I've had mild restless legs syndrome for years, my father had it as does a sister. VERY frustrating, indeed. Anyway, mine only would happen in the evening and only when my legs were still. Somehow I figured out that yellow food coloring made a big impact on it, causing it to be much worse. I cut out anything in my diet with yellow food coloring, especially in the afternoon and evening and pretty much stopped having restless legs whatsoever. I have no idea if it might work for you, but there may be a food link since yellow bothered my dad and sister too. Good luck either way, this is a frustrating problem for sure.

thank you for the reply on restless leg syndrome. i did have another question that was added as a reply. could you tell me what blood pressure reading is considered worriesome at the lower end? i have had to monitor mine for several months and it has been getting steadily lower recently. the past week it has been around 96/58. should i worry if it continues to drop? what might be the cause of it dropping? my heart rate is in the 80bpm range, with occasional higher rates due to svt, and when the pvc's kick in.  thanks in advance...restless and wondering
