Hello, I am a 55 year old male. After knee surjury in Aug,06 I began having a-fib. I had had an a-fib in the winter of 05 while traing at high altitude(12000+ft) that resolved on its own.Post knee surjury I had shoulder surjury in Nov of 07, which resulted with me having  a-fib often twice a week from then on. In Jan,07 I received an ablation and went on amiodarone 200mg for three months. At present I am taking 7.5mg of warfarine three days and 5mg the rest of the week. Five months post ablation I had an a-fib that lasted 26hrs before converting with about 60mg of diltiazem taken twice. My question is: Could this extended a-fib have effected my long term resting pulse? For weeks now my resting pulse,in bed, has not been below 60bpm, often a bit higher. Under normal conditions it is below 50. I am concerned as that relates to my daily pulse while just walking down the street at (100bpm) I feel like I my heart rate is much higher than it needs to be at moderate levels of training and quit high at hard levels of training(170+) without a correlated perception of effort.
I hope this is not too trite. I am quite concerned about having such a high resting pulse.
