right leg heart cath complications

by gigglestheclown, Jan 15, 2009 12:39AM
I went to the ER on new years day for chest pain. the test showed the enzymes for heart damage. Needless to say the couldn't do a heart cath on that day so I went home and rested for the night and went back the next day to find that no one was there to do it again. so one was scheduled for the next Monday. The procedure went well and I was released the next day told not to drive for 48 hr's take it easy for the next week. Five days after the cath I had what I thought was normal pain in my groin area and abdomen pain if I coughed, laughed, or lied down on that side. I had allot of bruising that went from my hips down the inside of my leg. There was pain with the bruising down the inside of my thigh and the leg started to swell. the inside of my leg on the bruise was hard or tougher than the outside of my thigh. I went to work on Monday for light duty. and wore some bad shoes so I thought and my calf and foot started to swell too. I went to see my cardiologist yesterday and he said that it looked like there had been seepage from the angio-seal. I have no pain except on the area where the bruise is on the inside of my thigh. I was told to keep an eye on it and call if it gets worse, and scheduled an appointment in April. I went to work today and it was fine. When I got home I took off my shoes and my right foot has swollen to a great size, and I am having problems moving my toes around. I don't know what to do. I have to work because I don't have insurance. The doctor mentioned something about having a ultrasound to check the leg. What should I do. I the swelling gets worse my toes might disappear. my right leg is twice as big as the left I have no ancle on the right leg, and my foot is 2.5 times bigger than the left.
