scared for 3 months now!

by Crewchief67t, Jun 28, 2009 12:58AM
Hi i am  a 32 yo male.  Light smoker, non drinker.  BP is average 135-140/80-90.  This all started with some abdominal pains over 3 months ago.  For some reason i got really scared a few times and went to ER believing i was having heart issues.  My heart rate would go up to about 120 and higher.  and bp would rise also.  I went to the er a total of 5 times.  Full heart attack workups, ekg's chest xrays and blood tests.  All negative.  ER docs suggested GERD and Anxiety issues.

Well from there i have had pain in both arms, hands, fingers and wrists for about 2 1/2 months (it is on and off and usually only one will hurt at a time.  Neck, shoulder and back tightness.  Tingling in arms and outter fingers and up to elbow.  Had sharp pains under both shoulder blades and in between the blades also.  I finally got soo frustrated i CONVINCED my Dr. to refer me to have a stress test done (normal reading).

I tried PT.  Some relief but not much.  Pains in chest are located on right side near nipple, same on left side sometimes, pain below left pec. about 2 inches to the left of xyphoid process right on the bottom rib i think..  Sometimes about mid sternum just to the left of midline.  Pains on right side are same except a sharp pain under arm pit about 2 or 3 inches or so.  The pains last anywhere for a few seconds to just a couple of minutes.

The tingling is almost completely gone.  But now i am left with more soreness than anything.  I do have some jaw pain too.  Pain is usually dull for the most part.  The pain never radiates and i can always put a finger right on the pain.  I have had some Gerd issues and had a endoscopy done 2 months ago, upper gi done about 6 years ago.  Found esophgitis.  Had ct scan of pelvis up to diaphram done, found diverticulosis.  Just had a coronary calcium score done on wed.  It was 0.

I have been having some serious panic attacks recently, on in the ER and one last week thursday.  Called 911 and was check found ok.  Heart jumped to about 150bpm or so.  within a few minutes it was back to around 80bpm. I am getting more scared and anxious as time passes by.  I am just afraid that something else is going on.

Now for the weird thing!  Most of the pains occur while just sitting.  If i press on chest the whole chest hurts.

My doc says anxiety and costocongritus.  I am just having too many things going on right now.  Any Ideas??? Please fee f ree to post!  Thans

What do you eat?  Do you drink caffeine, eat black licorce?  This will create heart symptoms with increased heart rate.  A heart rate of 150 that goes back down to 80, is nothing to worry about.  My heart beat 160 per minute for over a month night and day and there is nothing wrong with my heart.  Once a heart beat 200 beats per minute, then the heart does not do its job.  Blood pressure is the main issue.  Blood pressure cannot be high for years, because it can wear out the heart pump.  If your blood pressure is normally moderate to high, you should be taking a low dose blood pressure medication to keep your blood pressure within the normal range.  Do you get enough vitamin B, vitamin D and calcium in your diet?  This can make a huge difference on the amount of stress you feel and panic attacks.  Make sure that you are eating plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit.  Seven serving of vegetables a day.  Limit your caffeine and black licorce.  Drink plenty of cool water for your stomach.  It is amazing how much diet changes can help.

Thanks, No caffiene, no black licorice.  I have totally changed my diet.  No fast food.  I started exercising about 2 months ago.  Trying to quit smoking.  That is hard.

I am currently taking metoprolol succinate, xanax and nexium.

Thanks alot.

Now most of my chest pains are gone!  Just left with pain in jaw, arms. and occasional chest pains.  All of the pains last for just a few seconds to less than a minute or so.

Any ideas would help!

Thanks
