septal infarct

Got a 'possible septal infarct" on my ECG results.  Been trying to understand how the septum that divides the chambers can be the place that an infarct can occur.  Have been able to find lots of info on other types of infarcts, but not on septal infarcts.  Can someone explain it to me?  thanks!  laletas

ten years later, mention of septal infarct on ekg. cant get hold of holter erport- have been having irreg. heart rate for past 2 wks, with sob. following pesticide treatment of apt.
ekg done 1 week prior to this ekg shows vent. hypertrophy due to st-t wave changes.
continue to have sob and pain in back, severe fatigue at times. mteoprolol helps.
get in, get out of hospital, doctors don't want anything complicated, and take a terrible history.they are clueless about encephalopathies.

I'm not sure I understand your question.  You prorbably already know that a deficit of blood supply will cause myocyte (heart wall cells) necrosis, and a septal infarct means an area of dead heart cells in the septum from a lack of blood/oxygen.

Many computer readings of septal infarct are mistakes.  Look at your EKG.  The sharp spikes are QRS.  If the sharp spikes are all downward in V1 and V2 the computer made a mistake.  If the sharp spikes are all downward in V1,V2 and V3, no upward deflection at all at th beginning of the QRS in all three of these leads, the computer may be right.
