severe pain left side of body

I had my gallbladder removed last friday. no problems, felt great after initial pain got better from incisions, I was awakened at 5:00am today with the most horrific pains in my stomach, right on the spot where one of my incisions are at, right below breast bone,but in the middle of sternum. i thought it was a heart attack, my husband called ambulance and was taken to ER. They did X-rays, and a cat scan and blood and urine tests. Everything came back normal. I screamed the whole time I was there, and it eventually started hurting on left side of body too, they gave me 6 different shots for pain, it hurt to breathe, I couldn't lay down on bed, had to sit and bend over. I had full cardia workup about 4 months back, well it was my gallbladder, but this pain I had this morning was unlike any I have ever experienced before, I'm 46 Y/O WF, a shot of toradol finally eased up the pain, the Dr's had no idea what it was, they called my surgeon and he stated he had no idea, of course didn't come and see me, but i was discharged, and went home, I laid down and about 30 minutes it came back, but this time no pain in my stomach, just left side of chest cavity, and it hurts like hell to breathe, of course the Hospital said come on back if it starts back up, I don't want too, they weren't very compassionate about me this morning, but I dont know whats causing so much pain, could this be related to my gallbladder surgery? trapped gas maybe?? please somebody give me an opnion, I need one really bad. I feel so sorry for my husband with me being sick all the time!!!! HELP

i had my gallbladder removed also and did not have any problems. something is going on. maybe you should try a different hospital since they did'nt treat you very well. i wish i could help more. take care. remar
