should I call doctors office

My husband is supposed to get another stent put in his heart in 2 weeks. Has one back in feb 08. He is an alcholic and has been drinking heavy for 5 months. Should I call the doctors office and let them know about his recent drinking?

Yes you should.  the reason is that drinking is often associated with medical non-compliance as well as accidents.  The latter may be a problem, especially because many of the medications we put patients on after stenting  thin their blood putting them at risk for increased bleeding risk.  The former is also a problem bacause medical non-compliace can lead to serious complication after stenting such as stent thrombosis which can be life-threatening.
