sinus arrythmia

by lisapep, Nov 29, 2005 12:00AM
Good Day and thank you for answering my ??. Is a sinus arrythmia dangerous.  my dr said it is benign.  my next ? is sometimes when i get palpitations i feel tired afterwords.  the 24 hr monitor showed nothing serious.  also the blood test shows all is fine along with the ekg.

Are sinus arrythmias usually ok?
is a 24 hour monitor ekg test and blood test enough to rule out any heart issues.

If not shoud i ask for something else?

i am 31 female no family history non smoker, walk a mile per day, not overweight.

what is your opinion.

thank you so very much for all of your help

Hi Lisa,

Sinus arrhythmia is actually a good thing.  It shows that your vagal town is high.  I would do no further testing on a sinus arrhythmia.  A holter, ekg and blood work would be sufficient.

Go forth and prosper.  Do not worry about a sinus arrhythmia.

good luck and thanks for posting.

To: to dr. sorry i left something out
Lastly.. sometimes i feel stabbing shooting pains in my left chest area.  I felt them while i had the Holter on.. but the only thing that was seen was sinus tach.  Could this be caused by a sinus tach.  and what exactly is Sinus Tachychardia?

Sorry that I did not get this all on one post :-(.  But I SO appreciate all of your help.  I know that all of us here at Medhelp hold you all in a very high regard.  This is a very wonderful service and you touch so MANY lives.  Thank you and God Bless You!

Funny but most people with PVCs , Pacs and sinus tachycardia also seem to suffer from sinus arrhythmia which is just a breathing arrhythmia, when you inhale your heart speeds up and when exhaling it slows down. In some people it is very noticable while in others it is not, while having my last stress test , the cardiologist told me I had a bit of sinus arrhythmia, funny thing he told me in most cases it was actually a sign of good heart health( just quoting my cardio, really don't know it thats the case).Hope you feel better soon.

Heard the same thing that sinus arrhythmia was a sign of a health heart, even read it on articles online.

Sinus arrhythmia is a general term for irregular rhythm coming from sinus node of the heart. It can be sinus bradycardia (slow heartbeat) or  sinus tachycardia (fast heartbeat).

Always sees at the site, convert A-Fib into sinus rhythm.  Does it mean the arrythmia goes like "butterfly"?  Not strong beat but light?  How about like the chest in blowing bubbles?  Noisy and shaking. Is that still belongs to sinus rhythm?  My ECG said I'm in "Sinus or ectopic atrial rhythm."  Is that mean I'm having a healthy heart?  Hope someone will give me an answer.  Pika.
