slow ejection fraction & pregnancy

by asbjk, May 15, 2009 05:57PM
I have had three kids and found during my third pregnancy that I had a slow ejection fraction. We only found this out due to my brother being diagnosed with heart failure. Doctors have told me that our cases are not related. We are wanting to have another bay, but have been advised that it may cause my ejection fraction to go down again. The lowest it was during pregnancy was 48 and it is back up to 58- I think. I am trying to find info about getting pregnant and possible complications due to a slow ejection fraction. No one really says anything about possible complictations, just that they wouldn't advise it as it could possible cause cardiomyopathy. Anyone have any information!?
