smaller hospitals

Please let me hear some opinions on smaller hospitals doing valvular surgery.
I am considering using one that did 68 valve surgerys last year..
It seems like a good hospital with a good track record but its scarey to
  me somewhat.
I wonder if the big assembly line hospitals do better ? where they do hundreds??
  Thanks

Dear Ted
I would personally prefer a large hospital that does hundreds every year. On average, they have better results than hospitals that just do a couple a week. Common sense and various medical studies support this concept. However, you are more likely to get personal service at your local hospital, and being closer to home does have its advantages.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
