I suffered with angina for several years. Recently, I had angina that would wake me out of a dead sleep. It was diagnosed as vasospasms. I was put on Norvasc a month ago. I haven't has any angina, stable or variant. Norvasc works great for me. I have some swelling and slight dizziness with the Novasc, but the benefits far out weigh the side effects. Take care, Ally
So you have good BP and cholesterol readings but they gave you meds to lower your BP and cholesterol. I'm not sure why except if you're having vasospasms, you wouldn't want any narrowing at all of the vessels due to cholesterol. But yours is already fine (I assume; we use a different numbering system in the US).
You may want to ask why they didn't give you any med to relax the blood vessels like Diltiazem for example. That would deal with any BP problems as well as the spasms. Those meds are a curious choice.
