It depends on lots of factors.  I was advised to stay away from the gym for about ten days as a general rule to make sure the entrance site in the groin had a good chance to heal.  I've had six angiograms, I think, and have have eight stents.  During one of the procedures the closure didn't go very well and I had some bleeding and I didn't get back in the gym for about a month.  Also, I was advised not to lift weights for at least two weeks.  I would make plans to be on the sidelines at least a week.
I'm curious how they know that you will have three stents implanted before they do the angiogram?
Best wishes..

Some more insight in addition to Flycaster's information.

You should get an understanding if the totally blocked arteries have developed a natural bypass (collateral vessels, angiogeneisis growth) that is now supplying the area with blood/oxygen. I and others on this forum have totally blocked arteries and manage very well without intervention (by-pass). You my not need a bypass or a stent.

If the partially blocvked artery is less than 70% occluded with stable angina (chest pain) controled with medication, you may not need a stent. What are the symptoms?

To wait until June for an operation indicates to me that your jhusband's medical condition is not critical.  Having a heart attack with a blood clot, etc. would necessitate an operation.

Apparently, the cardiologist wants to do angioplasty to see if a guided cath can pass through the total blockage and if so do a stent implant.  Why wasn't the procedure done during the prior angiogram?  Was it an angiogram other than a cath angiogram? The doctor is not a prognosticator for future heart events and it is unnecessary anxiety if so stated. You indicated a case conference...was the conference with a primary care doctor, cardiologist and surgeon? It seems unusual to have stents now and predict a bypass 2 years from now?
