Hi, could anyone tell me whats involed in having a sternum repair. mine has not fused together properly and requires further sugery I believe, does it invlove a lot of pain ? does the sternum have to be opened up again ? are there any other solutions to this problem other than further surgery ?I had my Aortic valve replace in March of this year !

Your sternum has not healed properly either because of technical issues with the apposition of the bones post operatively or because of a sub clinical infection. In either case it involved opening the chest and reconnecting them together, plus minus any debriedment that it may be required.
