submedial mass/abdominal bruit

My husband is being sent by his Dr. for 2 ultrasound test , one for a lump under his jaw/chin area and the other for an ultrasound for abdominal bruit, site Aorta.  The dr. said he heard something in his stomach.  What is a bruit and how does it affect one's health and personalty?  Thank you

What Ed said.  A bruit is a symptom, not a disease, so by itself it does not affect either health or personality.  You can google the word 'bruit' and learn more.

Bruit is french for noise, and that's exactly what it is When a Doctor listens through a stethascope, he/she may hear an abnormal sound of blood rushing through a vessel, a sound which doesn't sound like it should. If could be a narrowing of some kind or aneurysm. An ultrasound may or may not be able to detect the cause.
