svt

Hi i would just like to hear from anyone with SVT as i am sick with worry about it.  Ive had it all my life on and off and in the year 2000 had a heart op for an atrial myxoma.  I recovered from that but just recently my SVT has come back with vengeance.  My doc has put me on verapamil and i have had 1 incident since going on this.  I feel scared to move, go out or do anything because when i get an attack, all i can do is lie down, as i feel so dizzy and like i cant breathe.  I know its probably not helping that my anxiety levels are sky high at the moment.  I just wish i knew why it has decided to bother me so much now.  I am waiting for the results of bloods.  It would be comforting to know of other people who suffer from this. I am 52 and live in UK

I have svt palpiations on and off -
they are very bothersome and sometimes drive me up a wall. I was put on verapamil when they first started ,back some 20 years ago or more.. long time ago !!  I remember
they didnt really stop or slow on this medication.  as its a cal channel blocker, I was sent to cardiologist and put on Atenenolol  beta blocker medication.  this worked and within a few days slowed the palps down, and stopped them for months.. however due to drinking soda pop or eatting foods with msg or salt in them, they can spring up and attack!  also Anixiety can cause them to happen.
I have tryed meny Natural medications to stop them or slow them , when they get bad..
I found the best cure is a powder drink called Natural Calm - its online and also in healthfood stores.  here in the states, I see your in the U.K.  but think it could be there
as well.. imported   its good stuff and it really works good !  its 100% natural  and
can be taken daily up to 4 times when needed.

The dizzyness can be from the verapamil .or could also be the fact your upset , b.p might be up a bit..  due to your problems.. as that happened to me too !

You might want to see a good Cardiologist about the palps svt's   and see what he thinks

Good luck to you,  and Hope I helped in someway..

Thank you so much for your comments.  I  have been a bit better since i went on the verapamil and havent had any alcohol for 2 weeks, my doc thought that might be a trigger. Doc also said he wont put me on betablockers cos i have asthma.  My BP is fine though.  Interesting what you said about foods with salt etc in them, ill have to take a note of that.  Also will look out for Natural Calm......although i have to say, my svt attacks happen when i least expect it...sometimes when i am sleeping and it wakes me up!

Yep, you helped just by replying.....i am not alone!  Take care,

Sue
