switch from coreg to toprol

Is there a slow change from Coreg to Toprol or may you switch instantly from Coreg 6.25 mg, twice a day to Toprol 50 mg once a day?

Since I was very slowly placed on Coreg a year ago I am concerned about abruptly switching to another medicine.

I cannot go up on Coreg anymore for it then gives me violent nightmares and I have never had nightmares in my life.

Thank you,  Emme  I await your answer and will speak with person ordering this change, also.

I don't know about the toprol but wanted to ask about the coreg.  I recently tried to take coreg and had a bad reaction.  My BP seemed to spike within 30 minutes of taking the first pill.  BP went up rapidly and then dropped.  I tried it for three days and got worse each time.  I slept almost all the three days and felt like my brain had turned to mush.  At the end when I decided not to risk taking any more I thought I might have had a mini-stroke or something.  It took me a long time to recover from the brain fog stuff.

I am now not on any BP med but need to get back on something.  Why did you decide to take toprol and have you had good results.

Thanks.
