tachky-Brady syndrome

Hi Again.
I have posted a few times and have a some questions.
I have a 4 year old son who has a lenghty cardac history. (had a Large VSD, Small PFO and a PDA Ligation all repaired when he was 3months old) CURRENTLY HE HAS A PFO, RBBB, BIDIRECTIONTIAL SHUNTING, MILD INFUNDIBUALR STENOSIS, PECTUS EX ASTHMA  and SOME SORT OF STRIDOR COMING FROM HIS THROAT. He did have a RVOTO that is not there now that disappeared with in 2 weeks after having it for 3 years. so I am not sure what to think. Astham doctor said his asthma is stable
Chris turns blue in the bath tub is short of breath.when walking or running.
his heart rate varies so much On Tuesday evening he was grey and blue. I took his Sats they were 88, and his HR was 110. he didn't appear to be in any distress.  I continued to monitor him. he went very limp on me, don't think he passed out but very close and his heart rate was 48 and Sats were 86. after a few seconds he came around with in 5 minutes he had his color back and said my heart is in my throat and I can feel it (pointing to his chest) I don't like this he said. I checked him (he has complained of this before and chest pain as well, not at the same time and I didn't have a sat monitor) so when I checked him his HR was 181 and his Sats were good 96. I took a picture to show his cardiac doctor  and I brought it to show his PCP and they listned to his heart for a while. they called his cardiac doctor and I was made to run him up the the hospital for a holter monitor. his PCP told me he could hear him having some sort of an arrthymia and he needs to go now.
Could this be tachy brady. what is the next step to do if the holter monitor doesn't show anything which I am not too hopeful it is. he wasn't symptomatic. this does happen qutie often but not every day. the EVENT monitor he is suppose to be on won't fit his chest due to his Pectus EX

the event monitor and the holter are very similar, one is just worn for a longer period of time.  If the holter does not show anything, i would favor the event monitor after that.  you could also consider something like LIFEWATCH (constant HR monitoring for 7 to 14 days).  I think I already told you once that you should really consider going to a center where this stuff is dealt with on a regular basis.  You doctors there are not very helpful.

Thank you for all of your help. I have a question. we most likely will be headed out to see you at the Cleveland Clinic, how do we go about doing this. I went to the web site and there are so many different areas of pediatric cardilogy, I am not suer who to ask for. also would he need a refferal from his Primary doctor. I am assuming his medical records would be needed. and with what is going on with my little buddy, can you guess how long or how many appts/ days we need to be there (I hae 3 kids I need to try to make arrangements for  I know I don't have an appt. yet but I need to be thinking about it.
thank you

the holter monitor reslts are in. I have yet to hear from the cardilogist himself, but all that was related back to me was everything is normal his lowest heart rate was 48 and his highest was 174. no running was involved due to the fact that he is tiny and he had to wear a backpack that the holter was in. they also say no sinus rythm was noted. I still feel something isn't right. thenwhy would his heart be **** this. It is lreally looking like we are coming out to see you folks, but just need to know how to get started. with whom do we asked for him to see, well you can see my other post oh and can you tell me off hand are they booking far out, months days weeks??

You can contact the clinic information desk 216-444-2200 and ask to be transferred to the appointment desk at the pediatric cardiology office.  They will be able to schedule you withing 10 days or so.  You will need to then fax or bring the records with you to the appointment.  Try to bring the actual films or pictures, not the reports, if you can, of course.  We can usually get the studies that we need done in a day or two and then make final recommendations.  The whole process may take 2-3 days.  Of course, if any procedures need to be done, that would have to be scheduled at another time.
