thalium stress test

I have uncontrolled hypertension and began having a nagging ache in my left arm....and also occasional pain in my upper back and discomfort in my chest...i had a thalium stress test and during the part where they sent me home and told me to come back in a couple of hours, I had severe pain in both arms, was nauseated, and had to rest until time to go back...i told them this and they seem unconcerned...the results came back ok...could there still be a problem with my heart, or are these problems being caused by something else? what else could it be? do I need further tests?

I would not be comfortable letting this go.  Many people have normal stress tests but still have heart problems. For example Tim Russert, he had a normal stress test the day he died.  I would pursue this, maybe ask for a monitor to wear 24/7 so that they can see how your heart is working at all times.  Why is your blood pressure un-controlled?  These 2 events are reason for concern, don't let these doctors just disregard your symptoms as so many do.  Get pro-active and get answers.
