I take atenolol for HBP, sinus tachycardia and PVCs. I have no tachycardia while taking it , PVCs I rarely have anymore and the B/P is controlled with the added medication of cozaar and HCTZ.I'm also very lucky no to have side effects from the medications I take. I have PACs also, but I don't feel them like the PVCs. Mostly everyone had PVCs and PACs, in some the majority of the beats are PACs other PVCs, some are even split. Some persons feel everyone , other are not aware of them.In general both are harmless in the absence of heart disease, though PACs are considered the more "benign" of the two, though some persons with PACs tend to be very symptomatic, even more than PVCs while generally PVCs are the more symptomatic of the two.

Sorry just reread your post , I'm not aware of the s wave the nurse might be speaking of, the flutters you feel are probably just runs of PACs since PACs are the arrhythmia you have the most of, in general when a person has a dominant arrhythmia, that is usually the arrhythmia that will occur repeatly. 92 bpm is not fast at all, if you feel better on the atenolol you might ask your doctor to switch you back. Toprol XL is longer acting, but if you can take the atenolol 25mg twice daily that might do the trick, again always check with doctor, explain your feelings as only you know how you feel and what you can tolerate , no one else.

thank you for talking to me , i went bac to cardio today and yes most of my beats are pac i feel everyone of them, the s-wave the nurse was talking about was svt -pac, i went off of the toprol and back on atenolol, am taking 25 am and 25 pm she said i could take up to a 100mg a day what ever it took to make me have less pac so i starting on 50 a day hope that takes care of it, she said i was not to die from them and ive been ubder lots stress with my mom being really sick so as my mom gets better maybe my pac will to . thanks again your a lot of help and seem to make others feel better . barbara
