tightness in left chamber of heart

My Doctor , did an echocardiagram on me and said i had a tightness in the left chamber of my heart, but did no futher test. Is this a serious problem,and does this cause symptons .he also said i had a slight heart murmur. i am 50 years old.
   I also had an ekg recently that was abnormal and was given no futher test.

DEar Brenda,

This might mean that your heart is stiff due to long standing hypertension.  YOu should discuss this with your physician.  You may need medication to cause your heart to relax.
