My mom had a pacemaker for twelve years.  She had one pacemaker for 11 years, then got a new one for a little less than 1 year.  She had good luck with Medtronic Prodigy pacemaker.  Pacemaker would help to keep his heart beating and to keep his heart beating at a certain rate per minute.  There is a lot of information that the pacemaker can provide when it is checked.  When there is a block in the electrical system of the heart, the heart can stop.  Sometimes when this happens, the heart will start beating again within 20 seconds usually after a fall (sometimes it does not start again).  Here is a website that explains the electrical system and how it works:  http://heartdisease.about.com/od/palpitationsarrhythmias/ss/electricheart_2.htm

Looks like his blood pressure is a little high.  Most likely he will need to take a blood pressure medication, beta blocker.  You will need to ask his doctor what medicines he will be taking and make sure he takes his medications as the doctor prescribes.
