Q: What does it mean if the ejection fraction is abnormally measuring 35%?
What is moderate ventricular hypertrophy?
What does it mean if the perfused distal LAD is small but opacified with contrast?
.....extensive proximal native disease involving the proximal third of the LAD, origin of the circumflex and proximal RCA?
...grafts are patent?
>>>>>EF is the percentage of blood pumped with each heartbeat. Normal is 50 to 70%, and below 30% is considered heart failure range meaning the heart may not be able to effectively meet the systems demand for oxygenated blood. With reduced demand and a well compensated system 35% may or may not cause any symptoms.
Hypertrophy of the left ventricle indicates an enlargement of the heart coincident with an increase in muscle mass; an indication of response to an increase in the heart's workload. The enlarged left ventricle can/will reduce the heart's ability to contract and that may be the underlying cause for the low EF.
Perfused distal LAD indicates the left ascending artery at the bottom end may have some occlusion (blockage) but there was blood flowing in the distal area.
The top half of the LAD (left ascending artery) has CAD (coronayr artery disease), CAD at beginning of the circumflex and top portion of the RCA (right coronary artery).
Grafts are open to blood flow,
