unstable angina..........et all.

by bob4719, Jul 05, 2009 03:11PM
I have a history of heart disease(father, 2 uncles all died at 61 of it).  Been on Atenylol 25mg (switched to 50mg) for about 3 years.  Have had E.D.  for the last 2 years.  Have had unstable angina for about 10 months.  Sleeping is difficult, so I've been taking 2 benedryl each night for 7 months.  Have been watching diet carefully, and exercising moderately for 30 minutes each day.  My height is 5'8"(I used to be 5'10") and my weight in high school(college) was 160-165, and it is now 192.  I was born Nov.1947.    Can't get weight down below 190.  Would like to lose 20 lbs.    B.P. fluctuates daily, but averages 145/85.
Can I get off this Atenylol?.......because I believe it's causing my E.D......my low libido, and my weight gain.  I'd like to either get off of it, or cut back to 25mg at the very least.  I have some Bystolic that my previous M.D. gave me, but I was afraid to switch because of the newness of this drug.
Any help is appreciated.  I have no medical coverage.(was laid off 11 mos ago).
Suggestions, please!!
