valve replacement surgery

by mfolsom, Jan 12, 2008 04:40PM
My mother had replacement valve surgery on Oct 19th 2007.  I think she is doing well but
she still complains about  "sharp" pains around the surgery site.  She is still taking
her pain medication (vicodin) once or twice a day.  She has had no complication since the
surgery and is walking just fine.  Her breatheing can be laborsome...but overall the surgery was
a success.  My question is,  Is it stil normal to be taking Vicodin regularly at this stage of the
recovery?? It has been about 3 months since her surgery.
