very scared

Hi I'm a 38yrold female, I am a smoker and I'm not very fit I had an ECG done a week ago results came back SINUS RHYTHM NONSPECIFIC LATERAL ST ABNORMALITY my psycologist didnt mention this but my md wants me to go have another ECG to ease my mind as I suffer PANIC AND ANXIETY attacks.  This is making my attacks worse thinking about having to go. Should I be concerned about this abnormality or not.  My father had a quadripple bypass at the age of 52.

I wouldn't be concerned until further testing.  There are many things that can cause that.  I was told I have that on my ECG, I asked why the nurse said sometimes women have that for no reason.  I would get further testing, like maybe a stress test to ease your mind but I wouldn't worry too much.

Non-specific ST abnormalities can mean nothing at all, so don't freak out ;)
