visual disturbance after angioplasty

visual disturbance after angioplasty

I had an angioplasty (2 stents fitted) three days ago. A few hours after I had severe headaches and visual disturbance. The headches went within 12 hours and the visual disturbance is now reduced but still there.
I had similar but less marked symptoms after the diagnostic angiogram a month earlier. Over my life (I am 63) I have had very occasional migraine with similar visual effectts (corona of flashing lights and blind spots) and think that the dye may have triggered a migraine. Is this possible? Should I be more concerned?

It may be migraine related but considering you just had stents put it, I would also wonder if you have a little clot passing through. I would recommend asking your doctor about this. I lost vision in one eye a few years ago. Only lasted about 10 minutes and then came back. But they checked me for clots and small bleeds in the eye. Very quick test and I got the all clear. Nice to know. Are you on blood thinners now? (Probably)

Anyway, give the doctor a call to be on the safe side.
