wall thickening

my sister in law recently undergone an 2Decho.  the following was her results:

INTERVENTRICULAR SEPTUM
Diastolic thickness 8.0 m (5-10)
Systolic thickness 12.0m (7-15)
Wall thickening 50.0 (>30)
Excursion 7.0 mm (4-10)

LV OPSTERIOR WALL
Diastolic thickness   8mm  (5-11)
Systolic thickness 10.0 mm (8-17)
Wall thickening 25.0m (>30)
Excursion 5.0 m (6-13)
Impaired LV relaxation based on transmital doppler flow pattern indicative of mild in diastolic dysfunction.

she frequently feel nervous and fast heart beat.

The septum (wall that separates right and left ventricular chambers) is slightly enlarged (thickened...50.0 greater than 30 mm).  Excursion (left ventrical posterior wall movement) is less than normal (5.0 mm ventricular indicates movement) 5.0mm less than (6-13 mm).

When the heart wall and septum are thickened there is some rigidity and the less flexible walls will not provide optimum filling of the left ventricle.  Because the filling phase is reduced  the heart beats faster to compensate to maintain the same cardiac output needed to meet the system's demand for oxygenated blood.  That may or may  not be the answer for the fast heart rate.  Diastolic (filling phase) is mild impairment!

Nervous and fast heart rate can also be caused by stress.
