weird pulse??

weird pulse??

i am 16 years old and i notice a very weird pulse that seems to be on my aorta.  It is right under my sternum and right above my abdominal.  Ive browsed other topics concerning stomach pulses but everyone says that their actual stomach has a pule,  my pulse is right above my abdominals not on it.  It is a strong pulse as strong as the one on my left breast.  I can feel it and i can definitely see it.  I want to add that i am extremely skinny and that i ve been getting chest pains under my left breast for a few weeks now.  Ive been to a cardiologist and have done an ekg(normal) and still awaiting other tests. doctor also mentioned i had a bit of  a heart murmur which she noticed when listening to my heart beat wiht a stethoscope.  I am extremely worried however that the pulse is causing my chest pains and that it is some kind of aortic aneurysm?

hi that is a great question. im no doctor so do not take my words as fact because only a medical doctor can tell you what is going on. however i am a biology student and im going into the medical field and i have had the same symptoms so i may be able to help you. what you are feeling in your stomach is probably normal  because i have felt the same thing im not extremely skinny but im the perfect weight for my height of 6'1" i can actually see my stomach pulsing in sync with my heart i think the reason we see and feel this is the low levels of body fat.true you could have an aneurysm but that is probably not the case given your young age. heart murmurs are very common in children i had a murmur when i was in middle school. my doctor said there are two types of murmurs innocent murmurs which are harmless and abnormal which are there since birth. almost all heart murmurs in children and young adults are harmless and can remain with you the rest of your life. the chest pain if normal could be one of two things both of which i have had when i was younger i had something very common in young people called precordial catch syndrome or pcs which is a sharp pain usually under the left nipple that gets worse when you breathe and dissipates when you take a quick shallow breath pcs is harmless and is not related to the heart at all doctors believe it to be caused by a pinched nerve. you could also be having the chest pain if like me you have had a panic attack or an anxiety attack i also suggest you research angina and see if that applies to you. i wouldn't be too worried about an aortic aneurysm  the most common age to have an aortic aneurysm is after age 60 men are 5 times more likely to develop an aneurysm than women. statistics show that 5% of men over 60 develop an aneurysm and 1% of women will sorry for the long reply but i feel that it is important to go into detail when concerned with medicine. however my best advice is to keep talking with your doctor. i hope i could help ease your mind. let me know how everything goes with you.
