why my heart?

by timmy, Sep 04, 1999 12:00AM
Hello, yesterday, I had like an attack, of which I'm very sure
it was a panic attack. But I still like your oppinion.

I was laying in bed, and suddenly, it felt like my heart stopped
for about 2-3 beats. Then it "restarted" with the first 2 beats
(as I felt) with pain. Then the rate went up to over 180 beats.
I started to sweat, and also my chest felt like collapsing.
So, I almost couldn't breath. I was in panic, and I stood up,
but everything turned black. So I got back down. This attack
lasted about 15 minutes, and the day after it, I felt like
sad, en very tired.
I think it's a panic attack because my dad has these, and his
mother had those too.

What do you think?
and could the chest pain been caused by the anxiety during this
attack?

Dear Timmy

I don't know you, so I cannot say for sure. However, I think you should be evaluated for arrhythmia first, before concluding it was a panic attack. The symptoms can be impossible to distinguish.

I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck.
