worried about my daughter

hi my daughter is 2 years old when she was 11 months she went in to heart failure and i was told she had dilated cardimyopathy.i was told this was due to a virus called myocarditis she was in icu for 3 weeks and then left hospital on meds (digoxen, spirolactone, fuersmide, captorpil).
in july this year she was taken off all the meds as they said her heart function had returned to noraml and the dilated cardiomyopathy had gone.since comeing off the meds she had gained loads of weight she has gone from the 50th centile on her weight chart to the 75th centile also she is very breathless when walking around when sleeping her heart rate is 130pbm amd her breathing is 40 breaths pm is this noraml. i have tried contacting her cardiologyst but he is very busy and cant see her untill january 5 th 2006.
any advice ould be helpfull thankyou

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Unfortunately, I have minimal experience with pediatric cardiology and havent taken care of a child in over ten years.

If your concerns grow I would seek attention at a tertiary referral center that specializes in pediatric cardiology. If you are overly concerned you could be seen in an emergency room before that.

i would take your child to the pediatrician if you cant see the cardiologist til jan. a heart rate of 130 and  respiratory rate of 40 while asleep is high.  also the fact that she is short of breath is disturbing....you need to have her seen asap.  at 2 yrs of age her sleeping rate should probably be around 100 and resp. rate around 28....does she have a fever?   good luck

In cases like this the skeeky wheel has to get the grease.  My daughter was diagnosed with IST at age one when presented to emergency with rate of 247bpm.  On further questioning they discovered that on previous visits for other causes RSV and Asthma the nurses had noted a high heart rate and not told anyone. Push to get your daughter seen earlier.  A mum knows how her child should be acting and what is normal for that child.
