Bradycardia

Bradycardia

My resting heart rate is between 42 and 55. I have mild MVP with no symptoms. I am 53 years old, 6'2" 195lbs. and very active with coaching, lifting weights and some running. I am not an avid runner but do in the coarse of a practice run. I would consider myself on average to be more active than a person my age. My weight is normal.  My question is: is this considered to be bradycardia or normal. My cardoligist has never mentioned anything to me but I am sure when I am in his office my HR is at least 60 or better just becuse of where I am.  The only symptoms I may get is sitting up out of bed to quickly when waking up or squating close to the floor and standing up to quickly. Both would make me a little light headed.  Most people I speak with also have this reaction so I think it is somewhat normal. I was also wondering if taking 12mg of atenole (beta-blocker) for 10 years for Pac's would permently reset my heart rate. I stop taking atenole 4 years ago because my Pac's subsided. Other than that my pulse reacts normally to exercise or my daily activity.

Relax :)

If you are not symptomatic (except the light dizziness, which is a sign that your blood pressure is not high), this is healthy and just fine.

Bradycardia and tachycardia are just technical language. They don't imply something is not right.

You have sinus tachycardia with exercise, but it's not a bad thing to exercise, if you get the point :)
