:( Irregular Beats

Hi Every one:)
Is soooo good to read every ones posts and no that im not the ony one having these problems!
My Bizare beats started about 2 months ago,And since then i have been worried sick with worry wondering whats happening with me:(
The beats that i have are thumping in the middle of the chest,Like a flip Flop then a thump a second later, then my heart returns back to its normal self.
And threw out the day i get alot of fluttering,Scary.
These beats happen threw out the day and get a lot stronger at night,Most the time when they start up i normaly get ont after the other until i move and then they'll stop for  about ten min then start up again. I find it hard lying on my left hand side and my back as they start up straight away! I have been lying on my right hand side and mainly sleep on my stumach,Butt they still happen no matter what i do or try.
I have been to ED a couple of times,And one american doctor told me they are PREMATURE VENTREICULAR BEATS (PBV)He basically told me to go home home and forget about them as they are benign and they wont hert me! Butt @ the end of the day how can some one go home and forget about these bizare palpitations that wont go away!
I have been to my own GP and he has putt a holter monitor on me for 24hrs and said they showed nothing and these palp's have been getting worse by the min.
I am now on BETALOC meds,They did help for a few days butt to no avail they have helped @ all.
My doctor has refered me onto a cardiologist butt it takes so long here in NZ to finally get your appoinment.

Please,if there is someone out there   I would love to here your side and thoughts:)

CHEERS GUYS:)

Well, it's true that in a structurally normal heart, PVC's as we call them (premature ventricular contractions) are harmless. I call them heart hiccups. Just as we get normal hiccups, some people have hearts that have a mild electrical hiccup in their heart that makes it beat a little too soon. Then it corrects itself. It may feel like a quick flutter, thump, flip flop and in some cases you may feel nothing at all.

Since this is new to you, I can understand why it worries you so much. But in time you learn to ignore them. You'll still feel the thump or flip but you know what it is and you go on with business. I've had arrhythmias all my life so they're "normal" to me. And since I'm pushing 56 I guess they aren't hurting me much either. That's encouraging.

I hope you will be reassured by this post which I read on another web site. This is a comment by a cardiologist to a woman experiencing 4.000 pvc's a day:

"PVC's, no matter how frequent, are normal cardiac activity and no threat to life or health.  They do not in the future lead to heart disease, cardiomyopathy, sudden death or any catastrophe in someone with a normal echo".

This is what the docs in the expert forum tell us, too - if you have had all the tests and your heart is structurally normal (ie not damaged by a heart attack, or disease) then pvcs/pacs are harmless. It just accepting this which is the difficult bit, especially when you feel every one of them. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
