13 months post SVT (AVNRT) Ablation

Just an update really, I am now 13 months post ablation and am again having longer bursts of SVT...not as high as before but still making me sit up and listen ones. I am used to the odd flip flop but this last time really freaked me out. Sitting at my desk and bam, there it is again. Managed to get my portable heart monitor and just caught the end of the attack with heart rate at 102. My Ablation cardio stressed that I may need a repeat procedure as he could'nt get it the first time around. I wonder now is the pathway coming back :(
Anyway just wanted to check in as I havent been around for a while as I have been really busy at school. It is hard being the student again when I have been the teacher for 14 years.

Hei again

Thanks for the comments everyone. I am actually going through some really stressfull things right now, although exam week finished just as Xmas started. I am on antibiotics for recurring sinutitis, 3rd time in 3 months. Hubby went in hospital for surgery and got some complications and ended being operated on again the same evening. Came home from hospital on Xmas Eve. Took him back to the hospital today as he is in extreme pain. Gave him strong medicine so now cant leave hom alone. But in all this stress no SVT...I am still working closely with my doctor to see what it could be so fingers crossed it is just a phase I am going through.
Anyway just want to wish you all a Happy "heart beating nice and steady" New Year and best of luck for 2012.

Jan

Hi Jan, i feel for you.  I'm 15 mo. post-ablation.  Hadn't had anything at all for the last three months.  The last four days I've had 4 episodes, 15-30 min long of some sort of tachy., but I'm attributing mine to caffeine, lots of Holiday sugar and my dog passing away.  I guess sometimes it can be the straw that breaks the camel's back.  i hope you can get to the bottom of it....do you think you'll have another ablation?

hey Jan good to see you post again and I'm so sorry you're going through this; have you talked to your dr to get some repeat testing to see what's going on now?  may be worth the trip to see what's going on

Good to see you hear again. Sorry to hear you're have short runs. I had a few short runs during the first few weeks after my ablation and my cardio said it wasn't SVT but short runs of PACs that can feel like a slower SVT. That might be a consideration especially since you're under the extra stress. Good luck!

If you find getting back to being a student is stressful (you didn't exactly say that), the stress could be causing some of the heart activity.  Talk with your doctor, sure, but try to be optimistic and see if as you adjust to your student life your heart settles down.

Hi Jan.  Sorry to hear you're having trouble.  I also get occasional runs but they terminate after 5-10 seconds or so.  This is still very good for me, because before, once they started, they would't terminate but run on until I interceded.  102 is pretty slow for SVT.  Are you sure that's what it was?
