2 Ablations for my son

My son 8 yrs old, had an ablation over 6 months ago.  He had palpatation almost right after the ablation.  He was diagnosed again with SVT returning several months ago.  They were happening almost daily at school therfore he just had another ablation several weeks ago.  
How long before we know if this ablation was successful?

It is unclear to me why type of svt your son had but in general most ablations can take 3-6 months before it becomes clear that it has worked.  People are known to have short runs of svt during this time.  Has your son had any runs of svt since this second ablation?  A lot of times they say if the first ablation doesn't take the second one does so have faith this will be it for your son.  take care.

He has had several episodes of chest pain and shortness of breath but no
heart racing.  The cardiologist is not sure if this is just recovering from the ablation or related to the SVT.  He has been feeling better this week and
hoping it continues!!  Thank you for your response!  It is helpful to hear others stories!

Between the svt and 2 ablations your son's heart has been through a lot and really just needs some time to rest and heal.  I have had shortness of breath and some chest pain in my healing process as well.  It is a good sign that he has not had any svt.  I have faith your son will continue to improve.

The pain I experienced following my ablation for AVRT was an achiness in my chest which lasted for several weeks. Ibuprofen help a lot during that time.  For months following, I had skips and short runs of SVT.

Thanks!  That is good to hear you both also had chest pain afterward and then
felt better!   So far,  so good.  Overall, less symptoms this time then after the first ablation.  I will let you know!!
