Bruce Protocol Treadmill Test Findings:

Baseline ECG: Nonspecific ST - changes abnormalities.  (WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?)
Protocol: 7 minutes, max HR 183 / BPM
Exercise ECG: There was significant ST depression with exercise, 1mm ST depression  (WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?)
Reason for Stopping: Target heart rate was achieved.
Resting Echo Findings: Baseline echocardiogram shows an ejection fraction of 50-55% (IS THIS GOOD OR NOT?)
Rest: Walls all normal
Exercise: Walls all normal

Conclusion:
Normal Sinus Rhythem with Right Atrial Enlargement.  (SERIOUS?)
Nondiagnostic due to Baseline Abnormalities. (WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?)
Very rare PVC's noted with exercise.
Negative Stress Echo for Ischemia.  No significant ST changes suggestive of ischemia.

Non specific changes means ....i hate to say it....that they are not specific for anything.  Not normal but also not necessarily bad ieiter.

St depression can mean that there are blockages in your heart -- but your stress test suggests that there are not.

Echo shows normal heart function rest and with stress.

Right atrial enlargement is rarely significant.

Non diagnostic means that they can't interpret the EKG finding because baseline changes were present and make it difficult to interpret changes to mean ischemia (blockages).

In the end you need to sit down and talk to your doctor about how to interpret the results.  It needs to taken with the whole clinical picture.  In the end, tests are just tests.  The history and physical exam combined with the tests is how clinical decisions are made.

I know my ST depression every where.  Echo also showed infarction but angiogram showed no blockage at all.  Some heart problems will show ST abnormality likes my wpw.  Now they told me only base on blood enzyme to rule out is heart attack or not.  Ask the doctor what are the posiblity that other heart problem will show ST abnormality but not a blockage concerned.  Take care.
