AF, CAD and flecinade

I have been takin flecinade for almost 10 years for AF with GREAT results. I recently had a 95% blockage in my LAD with all other arteries clear. They put in a stent. The doctor wants to take me off flecinade becasue it is not recommended as a result of the CAST study for people with CAD.

I have never had a negative episode (VF) in 10 years of taking flecinade. Why would I now that I have CAD? What has changed? I mean this blockage took time to develope and all that time I have been on flecinade why would it matter now? Is it becasue I am more at risk because of a potential blockage? Well the blockage has been corrected. I have less blockage than I did two weeks ago and if I monitor the blockage potential then I can reduce my risk. It seems to me if I was going to have VF under flecinade I would have had it in the past 10 years. The doctor even told me that flecinade proabably will not hurt me but becasue of the packaging restrictions he cannot prscribe it.
What if I just went to Mexico to get it?

Is the it the same doctor?  If not, ask your regular cardiologist, or try another.

It seems the stint is the problem, this is a device in your artery and it seems to my reading that's the concern.  If there is clinical/empirical proof that flecinade and stints don't mix, I'd not recommend going to Mexico to get the med.

Did the "stint doctor" say you can't take any arrhythmic medications?
