AFIB

I would like to hear from someone that had Ablation surgery for Afib as to whether or not you were able to get off arrhythmia drugs and blood thinners after the surgery.

Cleveland Clinic charts on 5 year follow up study post AF ablations.  Note that this was done with what would be old technology by today's standards.  Also, you are not going to get close to the same results at your "average" hospital.  So the answer to your question is yes provided you do your homework and picky about who does the procedure.

There are many who have experienced this on the lone AF forum so you will probably get more response over there.  I think all of them stick to life style changes afterwards.  Some were endurance athletes that dialed back their regiment.
