Ablation

Does any one think a ablation procedure would be the way to go if in the last 6 and a half months I have only had 3 bouts of afib it was during my wearing of an event monitor I feel it was from the anxiety of wearing the monitor for that was the only time in my life that I had an episode of afib I have had palpatations for 35 years I seem to be fine for the last 7 months,I need to make a decision by next week they have me scheduled for next week. My quality of life is fine.

I personally think it is something you need to discuss with your ep dr. I can't tell you what yo do as I'm not a dr.
Even though I was diagnoaed with svt I had onky had a couple of episodes throughout my whole life but as i've got into my late 20s symptoms like fatigue and dizzyness started.so I just didn't want to let things get worse.
I think it just depends on whether you want to live with the afib and the episodes that you may have or if you want to have a chance toget rid of it. I thnk you also have to chevk with your dr about whether your afib will cause any further problems or if it is dangerous. Make a list of questions up and ask your ep dr to find out as much as you can. No one here can tell you what to do.only you can decide really.

Thank you for your response I currently take metoprolol 75 mgs a day.I don't really have much problem unless I drink to much then my heart will skip and I can't sleep otherwise I'm pretty good, I just don't want to think I'm getting ablation so I can drink more. I have changed my habits lost weight and totally slowed down my drinking, this seems to be helping me greatly . Like I said I get palpitations during the day but otherwise feel fine. Only had 3 afib episodes in my life.do you think it is worth going through with ablation with only three episodes?

However my aunt has afib and her problem is close to her natural pacemaker so she decided against the ablation due to the risk of needing a pacemaker. If your ep dr thinks the.benefits of it will out weigh the risks then i'd say gofor it uf you feel ready to take that step or talk to your ep dr about other options before deciding. It's your body so don't feel pressured and rushed into a decision. I remember I felt abit rushed by it all at first but I took time to research and get info from people.

What is it that you have? I had an ablation a week ago today and I feel better for having it as my symptoms were making me feel horrid on odd days. I was treated for wpw but it was actually avrnt. are you on medication? Ablation can cure svts up to 95% so it really is up to you to decide whether you can live with your condition or if it is better to have a chance to get rid of it. Like I said you need to be more specific on your condition for us to say whether it is a good idea or not. But at the same time we are not drs and can only give our experiences. For me I feel like it was worth it as I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
