My ablation in January was for both a-fib and a-flutter. The procedure so far has been a success for both. However, I have a friend who lives out westWest nile virus and she has both a-fb and a-flutter. She had an ablation for a-flutter only (her doctor told her that if he ablates the a-flutter it would fix the a-fib). Well, quess what? Shortly after her ablation for flutterAtrial fibrillation/flutter she had to have another one to fix the a-fib.
I saw my cardio's PA and she says the same thing....maybe ablating the flutter also fixes the afib......maybe not.
