Ablation for SVT

by amiey2217, Dec 18, 2008 07:45PM
I am 27 years old and recently had an ablation for SVT, AVNRT, and VT. It, as a whole, appears to be successful in that the arrythmias appear to be gone, but I have ended up with persistent pericarditis. This had greatly impacted my life in that I am in a great deal of discomfort. I am on colchicine 0.6 BID and indocin 25 mg TID. This has at least taken the edge off the pain but it is still not at a satisfactory level for me. Any suggestions on where to go from here or what else I could try??

Hello...

First, congrats on the successful ablations of SVT and VT. Sorry that you were complicated by this Pericarditis. I know that colchicine (typically used for gout treatment) does show to be successful with Pericarditis. I know that Prednisone has equal results at reducing inflammation surrounding the pericardium.

I hope that this resolves for you soon:)
