Ablation on Tuesday

Ablation on Tuesday

I'm having an EP study and ablation on Tuesday, the 31st.  My dr. is mainly concerned about ablating my PAC because of the number of them (8,000 to 15,000) a day and how close they are together at times ( ie. an hour or two a day / every two, three beats;  plus other patterns).  I am pretty symptomatic.

He is not as concerned about the PVC which I have only about 5,000 a day.  Hopefully he can do something about my tachy issue, but right now it looks like it is inappropriate tachy...so he won't do anything to the sinus node.

My question is...has anyone had success with an ablation for PACs.  I know they can subside quite a bit under partial sedation.  I hate to go through this and then my heart is too quiet during the procedure. I know they can induce a variety of tachy issues.  I do get a lot of PAC when my heart starts to slow after these episode, so hopefully that will be the case of Tuesday.   Can they induce PACs during the study?

Any comments would be very helpful.  I'm starting to get a little nervous.
:)

Thanks for the link to the website. I have done a lot of browsing on the internet for several months.  Nothing is very clear or absolute. I was hoping someone on this forum has had an ablation for PACs, or knows any other information.

I will just follow my instincts and opinions of my doctors.   I'm ready to get some relief.

Thanks again.

I'm sure your doctor is board certified and has a wealth of experience.  While it is important to get a surgeon (not sure ablation is considered surgery, but it seems that way to me), I do not subscribe to the notion that one has to find the "best" in the world and then figure out some way to get there.

Good luck, tomorrow will be here soon, and soon thereafter you'll be home and feeling better, and we hope with PACs as only a memory, one to forget.

Thanks for being so encouraging!  That is exactly what I needed.  I am ready for tomorrow!  I'll let you know how it goes.
